Accordionists concert

At St Mary's Church Erpingham. Tickets from 01263 768209 and 01263 761702 or at the door. An accordion concert? Never been to one? Don’t know what to expect? WOW! AMAZING! SUPERB! – was the opinion of absolutely everyone there. The group of 6 accordionists, a key board player and a percussionist took us all by surprise as they played with such enormous skill, energy and fun. They so obviously enjoyed playing together and their enthusiasm shone throughout. A truly wonderful programme ranging from a James Bond concert suite to the Pink Panther, the West Side Story to the Glen Miller Story and all interspersed by pieces such as an Irish Suite which got faster and faster and to which one of the younger audience members said they would ‘have loved to have got up and danced to!’ We had read of their previous successes when the group under their conductor Jennifer Neal – now sadly deceased - played on tours in France, Germany, Austria, Holland and Belgium, and a junior orchestra playing at the Junior Proms in the Albert Hall. After coming 3rd in Innsbruck at the European Accordion championships (since then surpassed by the present group coming 1st!!) they were asked to perform at the following year’s closing gala in the Innsbruck Olympic Stadium. The sounds they made and their versatility and expertise were outstanding. You often wouldn’t know they weren’t a full orchestra they were so clever. We sincerely hope they will come and play again for us next year. Don’t miss it – you will be in for a very special treat!!
